City Library
Library Fine Policy

Mary Gilkey City Library currently charges fines for overdue books, audio books and tapes, and DVDs.  Non resident Library Cards are charged a yearly fee.  Residents of the City of Dayton are not charged for Library Cards.


Fine Schedule:

  • Overdue Books and Audio Books  -  $ .25 per/day
  • Overdue DVDs  -  $ .50 per/day
  • Non-Resident Local Option Cards  - $20.00 per/year per - household**
  • Non- Resident Full Service Cards  -  $60.00 per/year per household**  -  Full use of all Libraries within the CCRLS.


** Proof of address will be required for all household members.


The BASIC Library Card is still available to non-resident Adults, Seniors, Children and Teens at no charge.  This card allows for one item to be checked out at at time. BASIC card holders may also place items on hold. 


Children C.A.R.E. (Create a reader everyday) Cards are available to children up to the age of 15.  These cards allow multiple items to be checked out, but are limited to the children's and young adult sections only.
